These Days….

These days…..

The sun does rise.

These days…..

The rain does fall.

These days…..

The sky is blue

These days…..

The water is too

These days…..

The world is ours

These days…..

What is wrong with These days…..has more to do with our own personal perception, because These days…..are not that much dissimilar from those golden days of yesterday when we romanticize and glamorize their brilliance while fantasize about tomorrow’s eternal glow when today is all we really know.

Most certainly These days…..are not without fault, but then again, there has or will not ever be a time when there is not this or that, because that is the contrast we call life.

Heaven, nirvana, utopia whatever it may be might not be so far off in the distance as it may seem, because These days…..we have the capability to tap into a mind that can transform the state of being.

These days…..there is corruption.

When was there ever not?

These days…..there is manipulation?

When was there ever not?

These days…..there is division?

When was there ever not?

These days…..people have lost their way?

Have not I, at one point or another?

These days…..the kids are self-absorbed?

Have not I, at one point or another?

These days…..adults act like children?

Have not I, at one point or another?

These days…..they have something really stupid?

Have not I, at one point or another?

Release In Peace

Woke up from a dream

Although not last night

But, yet in the darkness

And, not the light

In the longest of hours

Therein gleamed much insight

IMG_6240 (2)

Expansion and opportunity

Not to struggle and fight

Rather to be at peace

Shifting from hapless plight

Oppression and chains

To powerful and ultimate might

The distinction between

Is the ultimate foresight

Not blind by I, we, and they

  Nor black and white

Fake and real (what and who)

Neither wrong or right

But to look beyond reality

That there is no copyright

The voice free to express

Or silent as the torchlight

Eternal is its flame

That burns so bright

We Are All Someone’s Crazy

Recently, I was stopped at a stop light with two passengers in the car driving on Federal Highway. The light turned green, but I did not turn. Why? Because, there was a line of cars in front of me along with a disabled vehicle making everyone merge into one lane. Behind me, I hear a honk. I, and the others in the car, look back. The driver is signalling both verbally and with their hands, “GO!” We all look at each other. “Go where?”

The honking continues. We laugh, and our laughter continues. Then, I noticed something as the woman in the back seat proclaims, “They are CRAZY!!!” That was our perception, but in reality, they at the same time thought WE were the crazy ones.

Driving is such a beautiful analogy for life, anyway.

X is driving too slow = CRAZY
Y is driving too fast = CRAZY

Insert whatever word best fits for “crazy”, but the point is the same. We may all be going to meet up at the same place, but we most likely are not all going to take the same route. Some will take the interstate. Others will take the side roads. Some will leave early, while others will leave late.

95% of the people, if asked, will say they are a better driver than the other 95% people on the road. It is as if everyone else is “CRAZY” but, the point is:

No matter who you are,
you are someone’s crazy…..

There is always something to be thankful for. (3)

I am In Love
With myself
And the world
Around me

Beyond the veil
Of good and bad
Of mistakes and failures
Of loss and gain
Of rich and poor
Of beautiful and ugly
Of masculine and feminine
Of strong and weak

To the most beautiful
Unconditional authentic self
And the world around me
In Love I am

I am in Love
With the Moment
And all the opportunities
Enveloping me

Beyond the veil
Of what was or could be
Of hurt or anger
Of lack or insecurity
Of guilt or resentment
Of doubt or uncertainty
Of tomorrow or yesterday
Of limitations or expectations

To the most beautiful
Unconditional authentic self
And the world around me
In Love I am

The Shadow of the Light

Good and bad: the foundation of division, the pillar of fear in a constant state of arousal.  One is not without the other, both mere illusions.   A matter of perception upon limited reflection, they are but us, and we are they.   At the dawn of every day the sun rises without compromise.   When engulfed in the light, shadows disappear.  It is not an absence, or lack of, but rather a place in this space.

It is within the darkness, as the shadow appears, there is added insight.  When the shadow is gazed upon, it is but a person (or animal, a tree, or whatever it may be).   Based upon the reflection and outline there may not be male or female, but certainly it is void of race or nationality, religion, or political affiliation.   The shadow is the core of being reality amidst the delusion.

Whatever the differences, no matter how great the divide, to find common ground, to break bread and find that there is more alike than different is to have a foundation to build upon and a pillar of strength.  Compassion and kindness are building blocks, love and respect the mortar.

There too may be anger and hate, but every body has a shadow reflecting that too.  When losing sight of one’s own shadow is to neglect both the dark of night and light of day.   The sun and the moon, both have their place.   Each holds space.

Walking out of the shadow and into the light a form appears who may be seen as male or female, questions of their race and nationality, of religion, and political affiliation.   No matter though where they came from, what their ideology, or what they look like they breathe the same air and walk the same Earth.    From beginning of time until the end this will hold true.

Living does not commence at birth.  It begins today.  What happened yesterday cannot be undone.  Life is merely this moment, and the moment is but a shadow.  Neither good nor bad, but simply is.
