Two Events – Two Roles

Every day we create the universe before our eyes that is as we choose it to be.

Today, for me, I was introduced to two gentleman with very similar circumstances but they both were playing very different roles.

What if everyone is playing a role?  Not merely playing the role of parent, caregiver, lover, friend, employee, or employer, or whatever societal role yours may be, but what about everyone playing other roles as well?

The first gentleman, we will call him Jacob, was in his early 20s and for anyone who think that generation has somehow lost a step I am absolutely loving this new energy I keep manifesting for myself.   This young man is very indicative of others  his age I have met recently.

Jacob had such amazing energy. He was so vibrant, excited and completely in joy when I picked him up for a ride.   As soon as he got in the car, I could feel his energy.

I asked Jacob where he was going, and he responded by saying he had only a few minutes earlier woke up to his friend asking him if he could change the tire on his van that had been left on I-95.  There was no resistance but instead, Jacob was excited about the opportunity to help him, because in part, he had known since he was 4 years old.

Jacob had such high vibration, and not only could I feel his energy, b20171223_123601_001ut I could see he was playing the role of hero.  Jacob was his friend’s hero, and he stepped fully into this role.

After dropping him off, and a little while later, I was manifested the second gentleman.   I had parked my car, and was getting ready to walk towards the grocery story when he called out asking if I could jump his car.   I had a feeling I was not the first person he asked.

He was not only much older than Jacob, but he was quite a bit older than myself.  We will call him Ethan, and he had on a gold necklace, a bright yellow button down dress shirt that he wore out over his dress pants.

I could feel Ethan’s energy was kind, much like Jacob’s, although Ethan was nervous.

The hood of the car was already up, the jumper cables already attached, and the first thing Ethan told me was that he had to push his car even though he recently had surgery.  He then pulled up his pant leg to reveal the long scar.

Ironically, when I was pulling in I thought I saw him pushing the car and had planned on parking and then getting out to help him push, but he had already finished.

I could feel Ethan needed to share about having surgery, because his role he was playing was of the victim.

It is said that a hero needs a villain, but that is reserved for comic books and super heroes, because in reality the villain needs the hero, and the hero needs the villain.  They both play off one another.

Another irony is both ended their time with me in much the same way.   Both gave me a man hug, said they were incredibly grateful, and were gone as quickly as they arrived.

The victim was not bad, nor the hero good.  Both were merely playing a role.superhero-296963_960_720

At other times, if we would have met at a different place or time, the roles may be reversed.

We have all played the role of victim.  We have all played the role of hero.   And, we consistently play many different roles.  Those roles play off each other, as people come in and out of our lives, even like Ethan and Jacob, their time with me is but for only a few moments.

Seeing people as playing a role helps me to see them as more human and allows me to see them as even more human, as I recognize in myself the many times I have played the role of a victim.  I have seen the many times I have played the role of a hero, too.

In fact, these two gentleman that I manifested today are a gentle reminder of not only when I have been the victim and the hero, but what other roles I am playing each and every day.

How connected are we, really?

We reside in a world that is more connected than ever, and yet in some ways, we can be equally disconnected.  That disconnect extends, more often than not, from ourselves.

If I may share what has been incredibly beneficial for myself (both professionally and personally) is two of my practices. Through sharing my hope is it may beneficial to you, or someone you know.

They are:

1) Living in complete Joy –  In order to achieve complete joy, my first step is to become mindful of the moment and to be able to feel the emotion of enjoying whatever it is I am doing not dependent upon circumstance or situation.  Like any other exercise, it takes commitment to achieve results, and part of this includes daily meditation. A very simple one is breathing in, smiling (visualizing my entire body smiling) and then breathing out releasing (and letting go of) whatever is no longer serving me.  Through meditation, I am able to control my thoughts rather than having my thoughts control me.  The focus though is not only on my thoughts but also my emotions, and feelings, while taking full responsibility for my actions and behaviors.  The more I allow myself to acknowledge that joy is possible at any place, and any time, the more I allow myself to embrace joy right now, which transcends all that I do and all that I am.

2) Unconditional Appreciation –  Coupled with living in complete joy is my practice of unconditional appreciation. Not only am I grateful, but I am consciously appreciating everyone and everything that is present in this moment. My focus is on what I have rather than what I do not in conjunction with focusing on the solution(s) rather than the problem. Every single person who comes into my life is for my own higher good. Every thing that I encounter is an opportunity to learn and to grow, and the more I am able to appreciate all I have right now, the more I am able to enjoy all that life has to offer.

How can I support and/or be of service to you?

Who Are You?

Who are you?”   They asked, as I walked by.  “Can you tell us about yourself?”

I without a sound nod my approval and almost instantaneously the first question is posed.

“You have to live somewhere.”  They begin.   “Where do you live?”

Smiling, I answer.  “Where else? “  And, continue.  “I live in the only place there is.  I live in the moment.”

Looking a bit confused, but undeterred, they ask the next.

“You have to like something.  What you like to do?”

Smiling, I answer.  “What else?”  And, continue.  “I like to do all there really is. I like to be.

There is yet even more confusion, but again undeterred, they ask the next.

“You have to be living your passion.  You must.  You need to be playing a bigger game, so what do you do for work?”

Smiling, I answer.   “What else?”   And, continue.   “Every day, I wake up working on making today better than yesterday.”

There is even more confusion, but that is fleeting, as the questions are not intended to gain insight, to listen and to find meaning, but rather they are about more questions, and they continue undeterred and on to the next.

“You have to know what is going on in the world.  Don’t you see how scary it is?   What are your political views?”

Smiling, I answer. “What else?”  And, continue.   “Every day, I wake up and view today as the most amazing time to be alive in all of history since today is all that there is.  I am scared to think that I may miss one day of living by giving into my, or someone else’s, fears.”

There is still more confusion, but again undeterred, they ask the next.

“Are you married?  Single? You need to be with someone.  You must have someone special in your life.”

Smiling, I answer. “What else?”  And, continue.   “I am married to this moment, committed to living life and singly focused on loving every second of it as I am with my soul mate, always, and that someone is very special.”

There is still more confusion, but again undeterred, they ask the next.

“But, who?  Who? You must tell me who that is?”

Smiling, I answer. “Who else?”  And, continue.   “I see them every day smiling back at me when I look in the mirror.”

There is still more confusion, but again undeterred, they ask the next.

“You must want more.  You cannot be satisfied.  What more do you want?”

Smiling, I answer. “What else?”  And, continue.   “I want to continue living the life I live, giving myself completely to each and every day satisfied and equally grateful for all that I have, and all that I am right now in this moment, because that really is all I have and all I want.”

Who are you?”   They asked, as they walked away.

New Year New Life

The new year for me is not about resolutions, although I am resolute in the fact that it is a time of transformation on a grand scale.    I am transforming myself physically, mentally, emotionally, financially simply in the fact there are constantly in motion.    The focus though is single minded that there is an opportunity, although not merely because of the change of the date on the calendar.   Prospects for and of something bigger and better, brighter and new, are on the horizon of every single day.

Just as the sun rose today, and as it does without fail, so too will opportunities as well as challenges arise.   As they say, it matters not what happens to any of us but rather how we handle what happens to us.   Each and every second we are afforded the ability to choose, and as with everything, it begins within.

In this fresh beginning, I am not looking for a job.   Nay.  I am seeking a career of epic proportions. I do not want to be a clog in the wheel that chugs along without adding value.  No.  I am eager to add value in more ways than one.   No matter what the position I want to see myself and be seen as a leader and someone who inspires.

Money is not the focal point, although is it a means to an end?  Absolutely.   We do not exist in a comprehensive barter situation but rather ours is a system of monetary exchange.    It is a matter of survival.

I am not one to profess being a survivor.   Instead, it is my intention to thrive instead of simply survive.   I often hear that being afforded the monetary means to pay the bills is sufficient enough, although there is a correlation.  The more one accelerates their increase in cash flow the more there are bills to be paid.

Money, it will come and go but how we handle ourselves through the good times and the bad is what transcends time.    If we are successful, kind and considerate people there is not only no harm in being successful but it is a part of the responsibility of living life to be the best we can be.

The real investment in oneself is in our own thoughts and our own body, because that is really the only thing that we can control.   We can only do what we can do, surround ourselves with the superlative support teams and put ourselves in to be successful.   The same is true of teams we lead, providing others with the same latitude to be at thC6091Color300(2)eir finest.

I know without a doubt that today will be better tomorrow, that tomorrow will present me with something better and I am in control of my own destiny.   For myself and many others, the path may be murky and without a visual destination.  For us, it is a matter of faith trusting that each step forward is closer to where we are going.

Grateful am I to be brought here to this today, and honoring am I that which I have been provided knowing that in appreciating what is here and now will only strengthen my bond with the future knowing  we will get there.   If we can only relish in the progression, the progress as well as the failures stumbles and falls, because each and every rung on the ladder is taking us to the top.
